Welcome to your Backstage Pass to starting your Marquee.
Getting started with your first Marquee is simple. In the Marquee Builder, head to Step 1: Start Your Marquee. This is where you’ll enter the foundational details that power your entire digital playbill.
When you open your new Marquee, you’ll see it waiting for a title, key art, and important event information. Click the Start Your Marquee button to begin. At the top of the form, you’ll see the Contact Email field. This will already be set for you, so you can move directly into the event details.
In the Event Info section, start by adding your Event Name — for example, Little Shop of Horrors.
Next, enter your Opening and Closing Dates. These should reflect the first and last performances when audiences will be using this Marquee.
If your show has a specific setting, you can add it here — for example, Skid Row. If not, simply leave it blank and it won’t appear in the Marquee.
The Additional Information field is a great place to include details such as:
Anything your audience should know before or during the show can live here.
Your Marquee can be featured in our growing Marquee Library, a searchable collection of every digital program made by our clients.
Select relevant tags so audiences can find your show more easily. If the tag you need isn’t listed, simply choose Other and create a custom tag.
If your production operates under a union jurisdiction and you need to display that information, you can select the appropriate union here.
Next, you’ll upload the three key graphics that define your Marquee’s visual identity:
This is the first image audiences see when the Marquee loads.
We provide downloadable templates — including Photoshop PSD and Canva versions — with the correct canvas size to make designing easy. When you upload your poster, a built-in cropping tool ensures the image fits perfectly.
This circular image appears inside the Marquee’s menu. Templates are also available for this graphic, and a cropping tool activates to optimize sizing.
Your Logo appears at the top of the Marquee, above Title Billing. This can be a stylized title treatment, a graphic, or a simple text-based design — whatever best represents your production.
Once your information and graphics are uploaded, click Submit. When you return to the Builder, you’ll see your event title and key art reflected instantly in the phone mockup preview. You’ll also notice that the button now reads Update Marquee. If you need to edit event details or swap out key art at any time, simply click this button to make changes.
With these steps complete, your Marquee is officially underway — and you’re ready to move on to the next stage of building your digital playbill.
