MICHAEL ARDEN is a Tony Award-winning director and acclaimed actor whose work is distinguished by imaginative theatrical storytelling and a deeply human approach to classic material. He received the Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for the 2023 Broadway revival of Parade, following Tony nominations for his direction of Spring Awakening and Once on This Island. His work frequently explores the relationship between theatrical form, memory, and collective experience. For this fictional adaptation of A Tale of Two Cities, Arden reimagines Dickens's epic narrative as an intimate encounter between one performer and an entire civilization.
