Dean Wick has been creating props, scenery, and stage characters in the Bay area for ....quite a while. Ragtime marks his 6th production with American Stage as a properties artisan. Favorite prop builds from previous shows include the Peacock Doors in Boeing, Boeing (Early Bird Dinner Theater), a full set of replica teeth for The Gallery of Mortality - Berenice (The Studio @ 620), the railroad crossing signal for Footloose (American Stage Theater Company), the steamy cauldron in The Colored Museum (ASTC), the 1960's TV console for American Idiot (ASTC), finally getting the vintage phone to ring for Crimes of the Heart (ASTC), and the re-invention of delicious red apples from normal yellow potatoes in The Dutchman (ASTC). Special nod to my colleague T. J. Gill for his reliable Photoshop drafting assistance developing vintage labels, photos, telegrams and an assortment of other paper props.
