God, I hope I get tickets to A Chorus Line! After a mysterious social media post popped up earlier this week and had the Broadway community buzzing, it has officially been announced that the groundbreaking musical A Chorus Line will head to The Loft New York, a third-floor dance studio in Chinatown for a site-specific, piano-only revival putting the audience right in the heart of the action.
This intimate production will be directed by Alex Kopnick and produced by KOPCORP, a new performing arts organization dedicated to creating community-driven, bold, and impactful artistic experiences.
“A Chorus Line is the ultimate look into the sacrifices that dancers make in pursuit of their dreams,” says director Alex Kopnick. “In celebration of the musical’s 50th anniversary, I want audiences to experience A Chorus Line from the inside out by subverting the traditional staging. Rather than transforming a Broadway theater into an audition room, we’re turning a dance studio into a performance space. This will allow all of us to experience the vulnerability of this iconic musical in refreshing new ways.”
Joining Kopnick in this 50th anniversary revival are choreographer Reed Luplau and music director Chelsea Melnick.
The stories of 17 Broadway dancers sprang to life when A Chorus Line opened Off-Broadway at The Public Theater on April 15, 1975. Born of workshop sessions with actual Broadway dancers, this incisive portrait of the life of the Broadway dancer received 12 Tony Award nominations, winning nine, in addition to the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. With a Broadway run of 6,137 performances, national tours, and international productions, A Chorus Line is both a snapshot of a moment in history and a platform for fresh talent.
In keeping with the musical’s spirit and sense of discovery, this 50th anniversary revival will feature an all non-union cast with the goal of showcasing new voices and talents from across the performance community. Submissions for the digital open call will begin on June 17.
Details on casting, additional creative team members, on sale date for tickets, and the performance schedule will be announced soon.

Cousin! The Bear’s Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Jon Bernthal will star in the new Broadway play Dog Day Afternoon in Spring 2026.
Based on the 1975 Academy Award-winning film of the same name, Dog Day Afternoon is set in the sweltering New York City summer of 1972. The Vietnam War looms large, Watergate headlines flood the news, and one man’s desperate act captures national attention. When a Brooklyn bank hold up goes wrong, chaos ensues that ignites the city as they follow the actions of a man on the edge. Dog Day Afternoon is a raw, gritty reminder of what happens when passion and desperation collide.
The play will be directed by two-time Olivier award-winner Rupert Goold. It marks Moss-Bachrach and Bernthal’s Broadway debuts.
Moss-Bachrach is best known for his Emmy Award winning performance as Richie Jerimovich in The Bear. He has also starred in HBO’s Girls, Netflix’s The Punisher, Disney+’s Andor, and Hulu’s The Dropout. He has performed Off-Broadway in When They Speak of Rita, Naomi Iizuka’s 36 Views at the Public Theater, Christopher Shinn’s On The Mountain, Lanford Wilson’s Fifth of July and Austin Pendleton’s heartfelt 2011 interpretation of Chekhov’s Three Sisters opposite Jessica Hecht, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard. It is his passion for theatre that compelled him to move to attend school in New York City in the late 90s.
Bernthal is a veteran of over 30 theatrical productions. He most recently started the Ojai Theatre Festival where he produced and starred in a production of Pulitzer Prize-Winner Martyna Majok’s Ironbound, opposite Marin Ireland. He stars alongside Ben Affleck in The Accountant 2 and recently wrapped production for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, alongside Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o and Charlize Theron. He won his first Emmy award for his role in Season Two of Hulu’s The Bear.
Tickets and theatre information will be announced at a later date. For more information, visit here.
