You have just a few more weeks to get down to the factory. Real Women Have Curves will play its final performance on Broadway on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at the James Earl Jones Theatre. At the time of closing, Real Women will have played 31 previews and 73 regular performances.
The show officially opened April 27 of this year and chief critic Juan A. Ramirez called it a charming new musical. Read his review here.
“We have been working on developing this show for the last five years and could have never predicted that when it made its way to Broadway it would be timelier than ever,” said producers Barry Weissler and Jack Noseworthy. “Bringing this joyful immigrant story that explores the American Dream to the stage has been an honor and a responsibility that we don’t take lightly, especially in today’s political climate. We are grateful to our company and audiences who made it all possible, and especially applaud our cast’s courage, vulnerability, and authenticity in telling this story each night. Though our run on Broadway is coming to an end, we are very much looking forward to the future life of Real Women Have Curves and continuing to bring this important story to new audiences.”
The musical stars Broadway newcomer Tatianna Córdoba as ambitious high school senior Ana, film and television actress Justina Machado (“One Day at a Time,” “Pulse”) as Carmen, Ana’s hardworking mother who imagines a traditional life for her daughter, Florencia Cuenca (Broadway debut) as Estela, Shelby Acosta (1776) as Prima Flaca, Carla Jimenez (Broadway debut) as Pancha, Aline Mayagoitia (Broadway debut, Six Boleyn Tour) as Itzel, Mauricio Mendoza as Raúl, Mason Reeves (Broadway debut, Frozen National Tour) as Henry, Jennifer Sánchez (Elf) as Rosalí, Sandra Valls (Broadway debut) as Prima Fulvia, along with Ariana Burks, Quincy Hampton, Zeus Mendoza, Claudia Mulet, Christopher M. Ramirez, Monica Tulia Ramirez, Shadia Fairuz, Elisa Galindez, and Omar Madden.
The musical features direction & choreography by Tony and Olivier Award winner Sergio Trujillo, music and lyrics by Grammy Award-winning artist Joy Huerta and composer/lyricist Benjamin Velez, book by Lisa Loomer with Nell Benjamin, and music supervision by Nadia DiGiallonardo. Real Women Have Curves: The Musical will also feature music direction by Roberto Sinha, scenic design by Arnulfo Maldonado, costume design by Wilberth Gonzalez and Tony Award winner Paloma Young, lighting design by eight-time Tony Award winner Natasha Katz, sound design by Tony Award winner John Shivers, video design by Tony Award winner Hana S. Kim, hair, wig, and make-up design by Krystal Balleza & Will Vicari, orchestrations by Nadia DiGiallonardo, Joy Huerta, Rich Mercurio, and Benjamin Velez, and casting by X Casting/Victor Vazquez, CSA and ARC/Duncan Stewart, CSA. Tripp Phillips serves as Production Stage Manager, B.J. Holt as General Manager, and Alecia Parker as Executive Producer.
The musical received 12 award nominations this season, including a Tony Award nomination for “Best Original Score” (Joy Huerta and Benjamin Velez) and a Tony Award nomination for “Best Featured Actress in a Musical” (Justina Machado). Unfortunately, it took home no Tonys last Sunday at Radio City Music Hall.

We’re hardly strangers! Ivy Crest Theatre Co. is coming back to New York with a production of Strange Snow written by Stephen Metcalfe and directed by David Newer. The production will run from June 20 to 28, with all proceeds being donated to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
Strange Snow tells the story of David, a Vietnam War veteran living with his sister Martha. Their quiet life is turned on its head when David’s former comrade, Megs, arrives, who forces them to confront the ghosts of their shared past. Martha gets invested in their dynamic, and a surprising romance blooms.
The Tunnels to Towers Foundation is a Staten Island-based non-profit that gives Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children mortgage-free homes. The organization also builds “smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders,” according to its website. The organization was founded after 9/11, and is committed to ensuring America “Never Forgets.”
“Being able to produce Stephen Metcalfe’s meaningful show and donate our proceeds to this meaningful cause makes this journey all the more worth it,” Ivy Crest Theatre Co. Executive Director James McCloskey said in a statement.
Director Newer has previously worked on Eden End, The Blue Room, The Last Supper, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, and more. Newer also teaches at the William Esper Studio and is a performer. The play will star James McCloskey as Megs, Rob Minardi as David, and Niki Sawyer as Martha.
Strange Snow runs June 20 to 28 at The Chain Theatre on West 36th Street in New York City. For tickets and more information, visit here.

Matthew Broderick and David Cross will star in New York Theatre Workshop’s upcoming production of Tartuffe. The production will be the world premier of a new version of Molière’s classic comedy, and be directed by Sarah Benson, with performances beginning in late fall 2025.
Broderick will play the titular character, with Cross as Orgon. The cast is rounded out with Emily Davis as Mariane, Bianca del Rio as Mme Pernelle, Amber Gray as Elmire, Ryan Haddad as Damis, Francis Jue as Cleante, Lisa Kron as Dorine, and Ike Ufomadu as Valére.
Tartuffe tells the story of the title character conning a wealthy man, Orgon, into believing he is deeply religious. Orgon blindly trusts Tartuffe, though his family sees right through Tartuffe’s lies, and goes as far as to offer the fraud his daughter’s hand in marriage. This “mad-dash” production will give a new take on the classic, with wit, buffoonery, and outrageous design.
The production will feature scenic design by design collective dots, costume design by Enver Chakartash, lighting design by Stacey Derosier, and sound design by Peter Mills Weiss.
Tartuffe is part of New York Theatre Workshop’s 2025-26 season, which will also include the world premier of the musical Saturday Church, with music and lyrics by Sia and directed by Whitney White, as well as the world premier of My Joy is Heavy.
Performance schedule and ticket information will be announced at a later date. For more information, visit here.
