Sherman Yee

M24

Sherman Yee is a New York City artist who has exhibited alongside his famous idols Keith  Haring, Andy Warhol, and Tom of Finland at the Leslie-Lohman museum. At end of 2019,  Sherman reached his goal of showing at Art Basel in Miami.

His work is figurative and plays with the male form and their masculinity in many forms. In society, men are often relegated to handsome or other less exuberant adjectives. Sherman’s work explores the idea that male beauty is just as significant. The works also explore the male gaze as it turns that gaze back upon the sensuality of men in the full spectrum whether it be hyper-masculinity or femininity. These ideals are explored in dreamy watercolors and colorful acrylic paintings that challenge and seduce the viewer.
