Originally from Bucharest, Romania Cristina grew up in the Communist regime and in a family of artists, working for everything they owned. Deciding to immigrate to the US in the 1980s the government pulled her from high school and had to finish when they made it to the US in 1985. The family settled in Youngstown, OH and after getting married found herself traveling across the US. Cristina never forgot her roots and after raising a family of her own in Avon, IN she began creating artwork her own using several types of media from graphic design, oil, acrylics and collage. Cristina is currently focused on creating pieces combining collage with acrylics. These artworks are created using recycled ads and different products which we consume on a daily basis. Reestablishing the creativity of the graphic designer in a new light. Her current series “Story Upon A Time” is inspired by a mythical tale of 3 friends traveling through each piece and the decisions they make along the way.
