A contemporary artist based in Havana whose work ranges from sculpture in ceramic and mixed media to paintings and murals. Her art has been shown in solo and group exhibitions across Cuba and the US, at venues like the XIII Havana Art Biennial, the National Museum of Contemporary Cuban Ceramics and the Cuban Art Factory in Havana; CamibaArt Gallery in Austin, Energy Innovation Center in Pittsburgh, Miramar Cultural Center in Florida and Art & Design Gallery in Miami, among others. Her art explores the lights and shadows in human nature and relationships in contemporary society.
“In my sculptures I combine apparently incompatible materials—colorful ceramics and rusty sheets of metal, twisted pipes, wood from old lamp posts or wheels from unknown mechanisms. All those rejected and ruined objects, far from being at odds with the bright finish of the ceramics, evolve toward new meanings and a greater expressive force.”
